As much as we have fought, we seem to be coming up short. It seems as though the ...

... last hope we had in the medication Selegiline...is just not doing enough for my girl Bindi. She’s now declining food and is becoming more agitated that she can’t just get up and be on the go. I had hoped beyond anything that it would have done the trick in easing her anxious mind ,but it does not seem to be the case. It’s now been 3 weeks on this medication and it’s looking like the comfort level she’s at is about as good as it’s going to get. While I’m grateful to have had her reach the ripe old age of 16 in which she spent almost all of that time by my side, I’m devastated at the thought of going forward without her. I believe I will be making that call...the hardest call I’ll ever have to make...in the coming days. I have poured my heart and soul into her care the past few months...none of which I regret at all. But I struggle to think how my days will be going forward. I almost feel without purpose. My pack had been fractured and broken up these past few years. Having these wonderful beings by my side in this section of my life has been by far the most important and influential part of my adulthood. They thought me love deeper than I had ever felt. Compassion, responsibility, humility...and even the bad stuff like grief and sorrow. I will take these next couple of days with her and hope for a miracle while loving her every second of the day. I wonder if I will ever run out of tears to shed for my sweet girl. She chose me almost 16 years back and I’m forever grateful that those dual colored eyes and troublesome yap chased me down and won over my heart. 💔

Not sure what I can add to what everyone else has already said, but for what it's worth, you continue to have my sympathies. Jennifer and I have gone through this so many times over the years, and I know it won't be long in the grand scheme of things before it's time to say goodbye again. The gaping, ragged holes they leave after they're no longer with us take for-fucking-ever to heal. :(

·

Not much to be said but I know you and the rest of the gang here care and mean well...and that helps a bit. Yeah, not sure I want to go through this again after my girl Maya is gone. The loss is just too great. I hope you don’t have to relive it for quite some time still.

BAM!! Right in the feels!!!

They say no parent should have to bury a child, but they never warn you about losing your furry family. My thoughts are with you mate.

Thx brother. I never used to think of my pets mortality until I lost my first boy. Then it haunted me daily from that point on. I do not think I can do dogs again after my last girl Maya is gone. At least not for some time.

I was only just talking about you and Bindi last light with my wife on a walk. Saying how devastated you are, stressed and sorrowful. We have a much-loved cat, Merlin, who is 22 and losing weight...We know what's coming.

I don't know what to say so I'll say nothing.

·

Wow! 22 years for Merlin. That’s awesome! Do you know the cause? Any other symptoms?

Yeah it’s just the pits. There aren’t that many things in my life that are this perfect and pure. To have to lose those things...it’s just brutal.

I will keep Merlin in my thoughts brother.

It's terrible to lose let's and to see them suffer. Hate it.

Merlin is just getting old. He's still quite playful and energetic but can't seem to keep his weight up. It's just the age I guess.

Keep your head up mate, and have a good weekend.

Gotcha. Maybe there is a supplement or something that can help keep it on? Watching them age is both a blessing and a curse sadly.

Thx man. You too. Give Merlin a little extra love this weekend.

We give him some vitamins the vet suggested. We look after him well I think, and the scallywag gets plenty of hugs. 😂 Have a cracker day!

He has us under his mind control. Typical cat.

Sucks to have to make that call, sorry for that and other things you have been going through. Dropping hints in theses posts, seems like more is going on. I’m going through a separation this year having to change jobs several times, because of the separation. Seems like my life is shattered. It’s been hard, wishing you the best through all you happen to be going through.

It’s awful. I know I’m not unique in this though. I’m not the first person to lose a dog I love. Others have gotten through it and I know I will as well. Doesn’t change the fact that life as I know it will be changing very soon. Not looking forward to that change.

Life in general has been an up and down roller coaster as of late. Definitely one of the toughest times of my life in several facets. But I’ll figure it out.

I’m really sorry to hear about your separation. I was there years back with my first wife...which sadly at the time but luckily now, led to divorce. I hope you and your spouse can figure it out, but if not...know that you’ll be ok in the end. We all make it through these miserable moments. I thought life as I knew it was over when my ex and I split. Even though it was just one aspect of my life that was being affected. It took me some time to realize that and come through it ok.

I had lots of animosity and anger I carried for quite some time. Took a while to shed that and find the light again...but I did. Just as you will brother. I’m here if you ever want to talk. Discord or whatsapp if interested.

Everyone should be aware that the moment you bring the puppy home, eventually you'll find yourself in the situation you're at the moment.
That's the price you pay for all the precious moments.
Hang on.

·

Yeah. True. Although I’m not gonna lie. While we all know that...I literally never thought of it...until it happened. Thanks my friend.

So sorry to hear this man. One of my cats has been struggling with health issues (he's fine) and just thinking about that potential scenario has been one of the most painful experiences of my life. You clearly love her very much so I'm certain you have filled her life with joy and given that we will all face the same fate, that's about the most anyone can do for another being.

·

Thx brother. It’s funny...from the first moment I brought my first boy Bandit home and then added one by one to the pack, I always thought I’d have pups in my life. Even after losing my 2 boys in 2015 and then last year, I still felt that I’d eventually open up my heart again.

But this specific experience with my girl Bindi has been so trying and tough. Just brutal. I feel like my heart is being ripped out every day and I just do not know if I can do it again. Even after Bindi is gone, I’ll luckily still have my last girl Maya by my side. But once she’s gone...I’m taking a long hiatus from adding or starting a new pack again. The loss is just too painful.

I hope your angel is with you for a long time still. Wishing good health and a fulfilled life for him. Sounds like you have a soft spot like myself for them which is great to see. Always a good judge of character in my book.

I feel for you. It is not an easy decision to make. You just have to gauge t on how much she is suffering. You will be in my prayers.

·

Yeah. Luckily she’s not in any physical pain. It’s more a mental thing and she’s kinda just existing instead of living. Not fair to her at this point. 🙏

Posted using Partiko iOS

Give her as much love as humanly possible.

Hope for a miracle.

But if you do have to lead her to the rainbow bridge, let her know that you will be with her all of the wayand she will forever be in your heart.

·

In the past few days as she’s slowed down considerably, she’s definitely taking more comfort in just pets, rubs, and cuddles. I sing to her and tell her stories. I’m going to miss her like crazy. She gave me so much in this lifetime that I could never repay.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Poor girl. Unfortunately most pets will not live as long as us and so we are bound to lose them. That doesn't mean it's easy. Treasure every moment.

·

It’s definitely the largest drawback to having pets. Saying goodbye way too early.

Crap dude...i dunno what to say....my heart is with you guys for your furry friends

·

❤️ thx my dear. Not much to be said honestly. It just sucks.
